We are seeking a hands-on Application Support Engineer (Level 2/3) to support mission-critical trading and data platforms. This role combines application support with SRE and platform engineering, focusing on automation, resilience, and high availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2/L3 support for critical applications
  • Troubleshoot across application, infrastructure, and network layers
  • Support and optimise Kubernetes/OpenShift environments
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in incident, change, and problem management
  • Monitor systems using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk
  • Support deployments and ensure production stability

Technical Environment

  • Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ansible Tower, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Python/Bash/PowerShell
  • Strong SQL

Requirements

  • Experience in application support within financial or mission-critical environments
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, infrastructure, and networking
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containerisation, and automation
  • Familiarity with .NET, Java, and microservices architectures

Desirable

  • ITIL certification
  • ServiceNow experience
  • SRE / Agile methodologies

Additional Info

  • Shift-based role with on-call (07:00-15:00 / 10:00-19:00)
  • Hybrid working - 3 days office
