We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Infrastructure Manager to lead and support critical infrastructure operations within a fast-paced financial services environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to manage a small team and make high-impact decisions, particularly in data centre environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on leadership across infrastructure, networking, and data centre operations
  • Manage and mentor a small team of engineers, ensuring high performance and technical excellence
  • Take ownership of data centre events, including incident response, escalation, and decision-making
  • Oversee and support network architecture including Metropolitan Area Network/WAN environments
  • Design, implement, and maintain load balancing solutions
  • Lead infrastructure projects across virtualisation, networking, and hardware platforms
  • Ensure resilience, scalability, and security of infrastructure systems
  • Work closely with stakeholders to align infrastructure strategy with business objectives
Technical Requirements
  • Strong expertise in network and data centre infrastructure
  • In-depth knowledge of Metropolitan Area Network/WAN technologies
  • Proven experience with load balancing solutions
  • Solid background in virtualisation technologies
  • Familiarity with enterprise hardware platforms (e.g. G11, 360, 580 systems)
  • Experience working with Dell enterprise environments ("Dell dark" environments desirable)
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure within financial services environments
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in infrastructure or network engineering roles
  • Currently operating at Associate Director or Director level (or equivalent seniority)
  • CCNA certification required; MCSC (or equivalent) highly desirable
  • Engineering degree (or equivalent technical qualification)
  • Demonstrated experience in a hands-on technical leadership role
