Senior Highway Design Engineer | 6-month contract | Rochester, Hybrid | £240 p/d
We are seeking a skilled Senior Highway Design Engineer to contribute to the planning and delivery of key infrastructure projects, including Local Transport Plan (LTP), Section 106, and other highway and infrastructure schemes.

Responsibilities:
Prepare highway designs in line with national standards (DMRB, MCHW, Manual for Streets).
Develop works orders under the Council's Term Maintenance Contract (TMC).
Prepare bespoke NEC contracts for projects outside TMC scope.
Manage design and construction programmes with strong financial control.
Supervise construction activities and ensure quality compliance.
Support the Council's strategic goals through safe, efficient project delivery.
HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent in highway design.
Working towards (or possession of) project management or ILM3 qualification is desirable.
NEC Project Manager accreditation is an advantage.
Minimum 10 years in highway design engineering.
Familiarity with NEC contract administration and tender preparation .
Proficient in Auto CAD and highway design principles .
Commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
This is a 6-month contract working hybrid from Rochester, a minimum of 3 days per week onsite is required.
Day rate on offer of £240 inside ir35
