Our client, a leading financial institution, is expanding their Emerging Markets E-Trading and Risk development team in Dublin. They are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join their team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge electronic trading platforms for FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities) products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop algorithms and strategic frameworks for next-generation E-Trading platforms
- Support regulatory initiatives related to electronic trading
- Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle
- Collaborate daily with traders, quantitative analysts, and senior stakeholders
- Focus initially on sovereign bonds and Interest Rate Swaps (IRS) for both dealer-to-dealer and dealer-to-client systems
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong Java development skills (Java 1.8 preferred) for distributed, multi-threaded systems
- Python development experience
- Understanding of FICC products, particularly in Emerging Markets
- Knowledge of software engineering design patterns and best practices
- Experience with industry standard Continuous Integration and automated testing tools
- Self-starter mentality with willingness to work with new technologies
- Ability to proactively own and resolve details of high-level tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in tier-one financial institutions
- Background in E-Trading application development
- Strong knowledge of rates and fixed income products
- Familiarity with electronic venues such as Bloomberg, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, TrueEx
- Experience working in fast-paced delivery environments
- Team-oriented approach with understanding of operational aspects of managing a software stack
