We are partnering with a large, complex organisation undergoing a significant transformation across its People function, and we're looking to appoint a Head of Organisation Design & Strategic Workforce Planning to lead a critical, enterprise-wide capability.
This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of strategy, transformation and organisational design. You'll be responsible for setting the direction for Organisation Design (OD) and Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) across the group - defining how the organisation structures itself, plans its future workforce, and builds capability over a 3-5 year horizon. This is not a traditional OD role. It's about shaping how the organisation makes workforce and structural decisions at scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading a central OD & SWP Centre of Expertise, owning enterprise frameworks, methodologies and standards.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing investment decisions and future operating models.
- Developing and embedding a long-term workforce strategy, including scenario modelling and skills planning.
- Driving the shift to a skills-based organisation aligned to digital, AI and future capability needs.
- Building capability across HR, Finance and business leaders to embed strategic workforce thinking.
- Leading and developing a team of OD & SWP specialists into a high-impact advisory function.
Why This Role?
- Enterprise impact - shape how a large organisation plans its future workforce.
- Strategic influence - direct exposure to senior leadership and decision-making.
- Build and lead - create a next-generation OD & SWP capability.
- Think and do - combine strategic design with hands-on delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise across Organisation Design and Strategic Workforce Planning.
- Experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong commerciality and ability to influence at senior leadership level.
- A track record of delivering large-scale transformation and capability build.
- Credibility, gravitas and the ability to bring leaders on the journey.
- Consulting background or similar highly attractive.
The Bottom Line
This is a standout opportunity to shape how a major organisation thinks about its workforce, operating model and future capability - with real influence, visibility and impact.
