The Role
Leading a small team of Data Engineers within a growing specialist bank on a journey to become fully data-driven. You'll own data delivery and play a key role in shaping a modern cloud data platform, built around Snowflake, supporting analytics, reporting and business decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical ownership with team development and platform strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of data engineers
- Own the design and delivery of scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Drive improvements in data platform tooling, orchestration and CI/CD
- Define and enforce engineering standards and best practices
- Collaborate with architecture, BI and business teams on delivery
- Ensure data quality, reliability and performance across pipelines
- Support ongoing evolution of a modern cloud data platform
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Lead / Senior Data Engineering role
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake
- Expertise in ETL/ELT and orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt, Matillion)
- Strong SQL and Python skills
