We are looking for an experienced Fidessa Engineer to join a Trading Technology team focused on modernising equities execution platforms. This contract role will play a key part in integrating an in-house OMS with Fidessa EMS and shaping the transition toward a scalable, multi-EMS / headless EMS architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, build, and deployment of OMS-Fidessa EMS integrations, covering order entry, execution feedback, and allocations.
  • Define and implement FIX connectivity, including session management, execution reports, order routing, and drop copy feeds.
  • Collaborate with Fidessa technical teams to align APIs, feeds, and message schemas with internal OMS standards.
  • Analyse and optimise end-to-end trade workflows from order creation through execution, booking, and reporting.
  • Partner with Front Office, Product, and Risk/Compliance teams to ensure robust trading controls and reporting integrity.
  • Troubleshoot complex OMS-EMS issues related to latency, sequencing, reconciliation, and data consistency.
  • Contribute to architecture and proof-of-concepts for multi-EMS and headless EMS solutions.
  • Produce clear technical documentation, interface specifications, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years' experience in equities trading technology within buy-side or sell-side environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Fidessa EMS and OMS platforms (e.g. Bloomberg AIM, FlexTrade, Charles River, or in-house systems).
  • Deep knowledge of FIX (4.2, 4.4, 5.0), EMS routing rules, Wheel, FDM, and drop copy configurations.
  • Solid understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle, market structure, and regulatory requirements (MiFID II, Reg NMS, CAT/TRF).
  • Experience with message-driven architectures, SQL, and scripting in Java or Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work closely with traders and engineers in fast-paced environments.
