This position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as part of a scheduled rotation and may involve working at either our Pharmacy for Life, Hartland or Northern Carleton Pharmacy, Florenceville-Bristol as needed.
About the Role
As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will work to your full scope of practice, supporting pharmacists and patients through both technical and clinical responsibilities. You will play an important role in ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services while delivering outstanding customer care.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from authorized practitioners
- Prepare and process prescriptions, including data entry, counting, measuring, packaging, repackaging, and compounding medications
- Perform final prescription checks in accordance with regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate patient medication and health records
- Administer injections and immunizations within scope of practice
- Communicate effectively with patients and set realistic service expectations
- Adhere to all privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support all aspects of pharmacy operations
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician or bridging program
- Licensed and in good standing with the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and embrace change
- General knowledge of pharmacy operations, drug plans, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Compounding experience is considered an asset
