Job Description:

H&S / Safety

  • Ensure that Company Health & Safety Policies and procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Maintain and produce, on request, up-to-date Health & Safety records
  • Set the standard for RAMS and amend accordingly
  • Ensure correct process & safe systems of work are in place
  • Ensure working area is safe every day
  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks and safety briefings

Quality

  • Ensure all operatives are competent in quality standards
  • Record quality issues using and updated Directors / Project Manager
  • Ensure all QA procedures are followed
  • Complete the QA documentation with relevant pictures ready for submission to MC.
  • Ensure the latest specification and drawings are in use and that all works comply with these
  • Ensure correct materials are being used at all times

Programme

  • Ensure works are progressing in line with the site delivery programme
  • Convert the build programme into daily tasks for supervisors and on site labour – ensure teams are briefed on targets.

Resource (Labour, Plants, Material)

  • Ensure all plant & material orders are in place to achieve programme
  • Complete daily labour returns
  • Complete weekly plant returns
  • Ensure that all works are checked and verified before release for payment
  • Ensure daywork record sheets are issued to the main contractor to enable operatives to be paid
  • Co-ordinate deliveries with the main contractor and make them aware of delivery dates and times
  • Check with supplier’s availability of materials (long lead in times etc)
  • Ensure the correct works order issued at outset with QS

Reporting

  • Maintain daily site diaries if requested to complete.
  • Prepare and present weekly update Tuesday meeting information.
  • Ensure all additional works is accounted for and recorded
  • Record any delays and variations to work, and ensure commercial team is aware

Labour

  • Ensure all sub-contractors work within the required specification and adhere to general Company policies.
  • Manage the process for ‘labour only contract’ persons coming into the business, working with commercial teams to ensure the appropriate documentation is in place
  • Monitor of on-site performance and productivity metrics
  • Act as a point of contact for any workplace issues
  • Establish positive engagement with on-site labour and manage any negative performance or conduct issues
  • Manage the screening of prospective employees and labour only gangs
  • Work with commercial teams to ensure labour only rates are achievable

Requirements

  • Must have experience in managing multiple phased projects specialising in drylining, ceilings, partitions, and SFS.
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid (3 day)
  • CSCS card
  • Specialist contractor background
  • Commitment to Health & Safety
  • Good IT Skills
  • Ability to build good relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • People and management skills
  • 1 days paid ‘Change the World’ volunteering day
