Description: To work under direction of the Panel Production Manager and alongside other operatives, assembling SFS (Steel Framing System) cold rolled sections and hot rolled steel together assisting with the following:

  • Read, understand, and interpret data from the drawings
  • Locate and pick material components and move them to the assembly area
  • Sort components into pre-determined order
  • Construct the components using power tools
  • Carry out measurements to check the panels against the drawings
  • Label materials
  • Cut sheathing board and clad external panels
  • Record fabrication issues and findings onto the QA sheet
  • Ensure all QA procedures are followed
  • Ensure correct materials are being used
  • Participate in team meetings and one2one reviews
  • Attend all training requirements
  • Follow company procedures, working methods and RAMS
  • Understand why, when, and how health and safety control equipment should be used
  • Ensure safe and tidy working areas
  • Attend and implement any actions raised from regular toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Ensure the correct PPE is worn at all times

Requirements

  • Excellent time management
  • Experience of working with power tools
  • Ability to reading and interpretate the detail within drawings
  • Experience of working in accordance with RAMS
  • Have a sense of responsibility and strong work ethic
  • Required to wear Company uniform/PPE provided and have a tidy appearance
  • Able to work well under own initiative
  • Able to work well as a part of a team to achieve weekly production targets.
  • Educated to GCSE standard - desirable
  • NVQ qualification – desirable
  • The post holder will be required to read drawings, operate hand tools, lift loads of up to 25KG and move independently around the production floor.
  • The post holder must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable adjustments.
