Job Description:
Working as part of the commercial team and reporting to a Commercial Manager, working on a housing project, the duties would include assisting with the following:
- Client valuations including thorough measurement as work progresses, through to final account.
- Cash flow forecasts and monitoring against programme.
- Accurate valuation, forecasting and monitoring of site Preliminaries.
- Ensure full recovery and valuation of variations/instructions.
- Provision of timely and accurate documentation, warranties and the like, both internally and externally.
- Ensuring that the procurement of subcontractors is undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Administration of subcontractor contracts and accounts.
- Ensuring that payments/notices are issued in accordance with the Subcontract and Construction Act.
- Timely production of subcontract final accounts, including re-measurement and valuation of all variations as necessary to facilitate the optimum result.
- Keep the Commercial Manager informed of the progress of both client and subcontractor accounts through to their finalisation, including the release of retentions.
- Compile monthly Cost/Value reconciliations and forecasts, including future risks and opportunities, and present to the senior management team.
- Ensure any commercial threats to projects are identified swiftly and communicated to the Commercial Manager and all contractual notices are issued correctly and on time.
- Attend meetings and ensure that surveying information and cost advice is provided in an accurate, timely and proficient manner.
Requirements:
- Surveying Degree or an equivalent qualification/experience.
- Experience of working for a Main Contractor.
- Design and build experience, ideally with JCT contracts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experienced in commercially managing large scale projects.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
