Role Overview:
Due to continued expansion and investment in advanced CNC Machining technology, the business is looking to recruit experienced CNC Machinists across both CNC Milling and CNC Turning disciplines. You will work either as a CNC Miller or a CNC Turner, producing high-precision components using modern CNC machining centres or CNC lathes. Applicants should have a strong eye for detail, a proactive mindset and at least 3+ years experience in CNC Machining. 5-axis experience is essential for CNC Milling roles. Turning roles require strong experience setting, operating and/or programming CNC lathes. The Team Leader role is ideal for a senior CNC Machinist with experience coordinating workflow, supporting others on the shop floor and maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
Key Duties:
- Setting, operating and (where applicable) programming CNC machines (milling or turning)
- Producing small, complex precision components using best-practice CNC Machining techniques
- Working to tight tolerances and strict quality requirements
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings accurately
- Proving out programs, tooling and machining processes
- Machining a range of materials including aluminium, steels, titanium, super alloys and engineering plastics
- Supporting continuous improvement within the CNC Machining team
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a CNC Machinist
- Background in either CNC Milling or CNC Turning
- Ability to set and operate CNC machines independently
- Programming experience advantageous (on-machine or offline, role dependent)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and machining principles
- Heidenhain experience beneficial for milling roles
- For Team Leader role: experience supervising machinists and coordinating workloads
Hours of Work:
- Days: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00
- Nights: Monday to Thursday 17:00 to 05:00
- Overtime: Regular overtime available (typically 10+ hours per week) Paid at x1.5 for both shifts
