As the successful CNC Machinist (CNC Miller), you will be working as part of an experienced and supportive engineering team, responsible for the setting and operation of CNC milling machines to produce precision components to exact customer specifications. This role would suit a time-served CNC Machinist with strong hands-on CNC Machining / Milling capability, who is comfortable working from engineering drawings and is quality-driven in their approach. You will play an important role in ensuring components are produced efficiently, safely and to the highest standard.
Duties:
- Setting and operating CNC Haas milling machines up to 5 axis
- Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Producing components to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Selecting tools, offsets and cutting parameters
- Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment
- Identifying and resolving machining issues and process improvements
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area
Skills & Attributes:
- Able to set and operate 5 axis CNC machining centres independently
- Experience with CNC milling processes and Haas machines would be an advantage but not essential.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Confident using manual measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, gauges, etc.)
- Quality-focused with strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team
- Preferable experience working in a subcontract or high-mix manufacturing environment
Education / Certificates:
- Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or CNC Machining (preferred)
- Relevant engineering qualifications advantageous but not essential
Hours of Work:
39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00
Friday: 07:00 - 12:00
