With a booming order book and massive reinvestment into brand-new machine tools, we are looking for dedicated machinists to join either the CNC Milling or CNC Turning departments on a choice of Day or Night shifts, with paths available all the way up to Team Leader level.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and Operate: Set, operate, &/OR program (depending on your level) CNC Milling machines (up to 5-axis) or CNC Turning centres (Fixed Head/MillTurn) to manufacture complex, high-precision components.
- Maintain Precision: Work to tight tolerances and strict quality standards, machining a diverse range of materials including aluminium, stainless steels, titanium, super alloys, and engineering plastics.
- Interpret Drawings: Read and accurately interpret technical engineering drawings to determine tooling requirements, setup sequences, and machine speeds.
- Prove Out Programmes: Validate and prove out new programmes, tooling setups, and machining processes to ensure safe and efficient production runs.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Support the wider machining team by identifying opportunities to optimise cycle times, reduce waste, and improve shop-floor efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
- CNC Machining Expertise: A strong, proven background in CNC Machining, specialising in either CNC Milling or CNC Turning (critical).
- Control Systems: Practical experience using either Heidenhain controls (highly beneficial for Milling roles) or Fanuc controls (highly beneficial for Turning roles).
- Technical Literacy: Outstanding ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and apply modern machining principles.
- Quality Focus: A meticulous eye for detail with a track record of working to exact tolerances and inspecting your own work.
- Eligibility: Candidates must have the permanent right to work in the United Kingdom, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
