The Role
As the successful Citizen Engineer (Programmer/Setter) you will:
- Program and set CNC Citizen sliding head lathes.
- Work from engineering drawings to produce high-precision components.
- Take jobs through the full machining process including prove-out and inspection.
- Machine small-batch components (typically 1100 off) to tight tolerances.
Machinery & Controls:
- Must have experience with Citizen M-Series and L-Series machines
- Sliding head experience essential
- Ability to independently manage machining cycles from setup to inspection
Key Responsibilities
- Create and edit CNC programs at the machine
- Work to tight tolerances (typically 0.01mm)
- Machine a range of metallic materials including stainless, aluminium, brass and exotic alloys
- Ensure dimensional accuracy throughout the machining process
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven background in CNC sliding head turning
- Citizen experience essential
- M-Series and L-Series required
- Programming and setting from scratch
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- CAD/CAM knowledge beneficial but not essential
- Comfortable working to tight tolerances on varied materials
- Able to take full ownership of machining operations from setup to final inspection
Hours & Overtime
Day shift Monday - Thursday, 7am to 4pm & Friday, 7am to 12pm. Overtime available (up to approx. 15hrs weekly), paid at x1.5hrs.
