Are you an experienced Temporary Works Manager with a strong background in rail and civil engineering projects? Do you have expertise in managing temporary works associated with drainage, troughing, track works, embankments, and other critical infrastructure? If so, we want to hear from you! Our client, a leading contractor in rail and civil engineering, is delivering high-quality projects across the Wessex, Sussex, and Kent regions. As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking a skilled and proactive Temporary Works Manager to play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects. The daily rate is negotiable depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: Temporary Works Management: Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of temporary works solutions for rail and civils projects, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards. Coordination: Collaborate with designers, engineers, and site teams to develop and implement temporary works schemes. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all temporary works comply with relevant safety standards and regulations, including Network Rail and CDM requirements. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with temporary works activities. Documentation: Manage temporary works registers, prepare method statements, and oversee permit systems. Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for temporary works matters, liaising with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors. Audits & Inspections: Conduct site visits to monitor the installation, use, and removal of temporary works, ensuring compliance and quality. Requirements: Proven experience as a Temporary Works Manager or Coordinator within rail and civil engineering projects. Strong technical knowledge of temporary works, including drainage, embankments, troughing, and other related structures. Familiarity with Network Rail standards, CDM regulations, and other industry requirements. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or a related field (e.g., HND, BEng, or equivalent). Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) certification is highly desirable.
