Location: McGarrity Bros Ltd, Omagh, County Tyrone

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Manager

Job Purpose: To manufacture high-quality pre-stressed concrete wall panels using a multi-stress bed system, including preparation, pouring, finishing, and demoulding, in line with production schedules, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare the beds for the manufacture of pre-stressed concrete wall panels.
  • Install the sides which will form the panels 4, 6 or 8 side formers.
  • Assist with stressing and de-stressing operations in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Pour, place, and finish concrete to required specifications and tolerances.
  • Monitor concrete quality, consistency, and finish during pouring operations.
  • Carry out demoulding/stripping of wall panels safely and efficiently once curing requirements are met.
  • Assist with lifting, handling, and storage of finished panels using appropriate equipment.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure panels are manufactured to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify and report defects or non-conformances.
  • Carry out basic quality checks on dimensions, surface finish, and embeds.

Health, Safety & Housekeeping:

  • Comply with all site health & safety procedures and risk assessments.
  • Use PPE correctly at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment around the stress beds.
  • Report hazards, incidents, or near misses immediately.

Equipment & Maintenance:

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and concrete equipment safely.
  • Carry out basic cleaning and routine maintenance of moulds, beds, and equipment.
  • Forklift driving / Overhead Gantry Crane.
  • Report equipment faults or maintenance issues.

Skills & Experience:

  • Essential understanding of demoulding procedures and safe manual handling.
  • Good awareness of health & safety in a manufacturing setting. Training will be provided on site.
