Application Support Engineer

About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to ensure the stability, performance, and continuous operation of their blockchain-based applications in production. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple environments, coordinate with engineering teams, and drive operational excellence across production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure 24/7 application uptime and performance in production environments.
- Manage and maintain non-production environments such as pre-production and staging.
- Develop a deep understanding of application features and all supported blockchains.
- Collaborate closely with both application and infrastructure engineers to ensure smooth and safe production deployments.
- Apply fixes, improvements, and optimizations across applications and infrastructure when needed.
- Identify and mitigate potential issues that could impact uptime, scalability, or performance.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and triage production alerts and incidents in real time.
- Lead and coordinate incident and problem management, including post-resolution analysis and follow-ups.
- Continuously enhance monitoring tools, alerting systems, and operational processes.
- Coordinate and document Disaster Recovery (DR) testing and audits.
- Maintain and support blockchain infrastructure (DevOps knowledge is advantageous).
- For senior profiles: serve as the main point of communication with stakeholders during application incidents and production updates.
Requirements
- Proven experience in application support, production operations, or site reliability.
- Solid understanding of blockchain technologies or willingness to learn.
- Experience with monitoring tools, logging systems, and alert management.
- Familiarity with DevOps concepts (CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure as code).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams.
- Based in the EU and open to working onsite in London.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or related technologies.
- Exposure to incident management frameworks (ITIL, SRE principles).
- Experience supporting financial or blockchain-based applications.
