Design Manager – Interior Fit-Out

Permanent Role – London – Up to £70,000 per Annum

We are currently working with a well-established contractor seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will oversee the design process from pre-construction to project completion, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and timely project delivery. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Duties Include:

  • Manage the design process from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to coordinate design information.
  • Review and manage design documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve design-related issues, working proactively to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure all designs comply with current building regulations, health and safety requirements, and industry standards.
  • Support pre-construction and tender teams by providing design input and feasibility analysis.
  • Oversee technical submissions, approvals, and design change management.
  • Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Drive innovation and best practices in design to enhance project efficiency and quality.

Requiremen ts:

  • A degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years\’ experience in design management within the interior fit-out sector.
  • Strong knowledge of fit-out processes, materials, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Suite.
  • Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-driven approach.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
