Catering Technician Apprenticeship Opportunity City & Guilds Approved Programme – National Living Wage, rising to £16.50 per hour after successful completion of the programme.

Essential Requirements

  • Must have held a full UK Manual Drivers licence for a minimum of one year
  • Ambition and drive, we’re looking for future team leaders
  • Must be willing to travel
  • We expect a minimum four‑year investment from you; if you leave before this period training costs would be applicable

What’s the journey?

You will begin with 3‑months based at our brand‑new technical academy where you’ll learn the basics, getting you ready to go out into the field. From there you’ll be attending our customer sites with one of our experienced technicians who will support your learning, returning periodically to the technical academy for the next part of your classroom‑based learning. This is genuinely a mix of classroom‑based and practical, hands‑on education.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

There isn’t one! Every day is different, at different locations and with different customers – from schools and colleges to commercial kitchens at well‑known sporting venues. You will be building your portfolio to evidence your competence in each area of the training programme, giving a structured approach to your learning. You will be carrying out preventive maintenance, callouts and repairs on a wide variety of commercial kitchen equipment. You will have your own allocated sites upon completion of the trainee programme where you will build relationships with your customers and really get to know the ins and outs of each kitchen you come across.

You will be delivering work for our customers that adds genuine value. You aren’t coming here to be a bag carrier; you will be making real impact! You’ll earn a pay increase annually as you become more experienced and be able to work on more complex jobs.
