Cloud Platform & Dev Ops Engineer to help design, operate and enhance secure Azure cloud platforms across the business.

You’ll work across Azure Paa S, Infrastructure as Code, Dev Ops tooling and supplier‑facing technical governance - with a major focus on supporting our Client Onboarding platform across Dev, Test and Production.

If you enjoy solving complex cloud challenges, improving reliability and enabling secure delivery at scale, this role offers huge scope and impact.

You’ll work closely with internal IT, development teams and third‑party partners to ensure infrastructure changes, pipelines, service connections and deployment patterns are secure, supportable and aligned to business standards.

From Azure architecture and Ia C to CI/CD, networking, monitoring, identity, resilience and automation - this is a hands‑on engineering role at the heart of our cloud transformation.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Designing and supporting secure, scalable Azure architectures aligned to Landing Zone principles
  • Providing operational support across App Services, API Management, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Storage, Managed Identities and private networking
  • Supporting the Client Onboarding platform across environments, including incident investigation and deployment troubleshooting
  • Developing and reviewing Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, ARM)
  • Reviewing infrastructure pull requests from third‑party partners to ensure alignment with naming, tagging, security and networking standards
  • Configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, service connections, environments and deployment tooling (Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub, Git Lab, Bitbucket)
  • Troubleshooting Azure networking: VNets, Private Endpoints, NSGs, DNS, routing and service‑to‑service connectivity
  • Strengthening identity, access and secrets management using RBAC, Managed Identities and Key Vault
  • Improving monitoring and observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights
  • Supporting backup, recovery, resilience and DR activities
  • Automating operational tasks using Power Shell, Azure CLI, Bash or Python
  • Maintaining clear documentation, runbooks and operational procedures
  • Supporting cloud cost optimisation and platform hygiene
  • Contributing to change management, risk assessment and audit requirements
  • Providing technical guidance on Azure, Ia C, Dev Ops and secure cloud delivery

Do you have?

  • Deep knowledge of Azure Paa S services (App Services, API Management, SQL, Key Vault, Storage, App Insights)
  • Experience with Ia C (Bicep, Terraform, ARM)
  • CI/CD experience (Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub, Git Lab or Bitbucket)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Azure and deployment tooling
  • Solid understanding of networking, identity, monitoring and secure cloud design
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, PIM
  • Cost optimisation and RCA
  • Experience working with third‑party development partners

The role is hybrid working based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh with 3-days a week in the office.
