Our client is in a sector known as power to X (P2X) producing a range of synthetic fuels made by combining hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The chemistry is established, depending on the temperature, pressure and catalysts used, you can make fuels such as e-methane, e-methanol and sustainable aviation fuel. The commercial model is where they innovate to make e‑fuels financially viable.
The business is project focussed, working with a new company that is backed by a major global player. The challenge is now to scale that new company, to address this they are looking to bring on board a Procurement Director who can take responsibility for procuring the equipment. They are looking for someone who will take the designs and find the equipment needed at the best combination of price and time.
Role focus:- Source, contract and manage multiple manufacturers for the equipment
- Protect IP by splitting workstreams across suppliers
- Oversee component production (likely China and Europe)
- Manage assembly and containerisation (potentially UK‑based)
- Implement rigorous QC, testing, warranties and delivery controls
- Procurement of engineered systems, process equipment or modular plants
- Strong supplier‑management and commercial negotiation skills
- Practical, detail‑driven, and comfortable owning delivery end‑to‑end
