McEwan Contractors is a small Cheshire-based business specialising in woodland and countryside management. We are currently recruiting for a multi-skilled person to work on a range of local authority, commercial and conservation contracts.
The ideal candidate will have experience in fulfilling the following duties:
- Installation of fences, gates, stiles, wooden bridges, signage (year-round)
- Strimming and mowing (summer season)
- Tree work (autumn/winter)
- Map reading/navigation skills
Experience in the above tasks is essential and applicants will also need:
- Ability to spend a full day outside, often on difficult terrain, in all weathers
- A good level of fitness and mobility
- Full clean driving licence
- Good communication skills
The following skills/competencies are essential:
- Chainsaw licence
The following skills/competencies are desirable. Training can be provided where possible:
- Chipper certificate
- Strimmer certificate
- PA1 & PA6 spraying certificate
- Trailer towing experience/licence
- Digger driver
- First Aid + Forestry
- Good knowledge and understanding of health and safety
- An interest in woodlands and wildlife
