Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and support to Managers, supervisors, and colleagues to improve the service of the HSEQ department.
  • Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS) covering ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001.
  • Ensure IMS compliance against applicable standards.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all levels of employees and promote a culture of engagement and continual improvement.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and authoritative advice on the close out of actions.
  • Support the delivery of health and safety inductions for Managers and Supervisors.
  • Identify knowledge or skills gaps and implement corrective actions to ensure competency levels are attained and maintained.
  • Support site-based safety requirements and take ownership of HSEQ matters relevant to projects.
  • Develop and maintain site-based HSEQ Management Plans, safe systems of work, method statements, risk assessments, and COSHH assessments.
  • Create and deliver site inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Conduct audits and ensure emergency preparedness and response requirements are met.
  • Investigate safety-related incidents in a timely manner and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage subcontractors and lead accident and incident investigations using root cause analysis.
  • Attend necessary meetings as required.
  • Review and record First Aid and spill kit provision across all sites.
  • Participate in an Annual Joint Review.

Essential:

  • NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Proven HSE experience for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Experience in New Build and M&E construction environments.
  • Experience of undertaking health and safety audits.
  • Experience of creating RAMS for complex works.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and technical standards.
  • Accident and incident investigation experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence change and challenge non-compliance with H&S rules.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Full UK Driving licence and ability to travel to other sites across Ireland and the UK.

Desirable:

  • Chartered membership of IOSH or working towards it.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or working towards it.
  • ISO internal auditing qualification.
  • Appointed person Qualification.
  • Train the Trainer Qualification.
