As a Senior Design Engineer, you will work within a close team of experienced Mechanical Design Engineers, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing products from concept through to manufacture, both individually and as part of a project team using SolidWorks.
- Working to required deliverables, ensuring design projects are on time and within budget.
- Supporting prototyping by providing accurate data to the prototyping resources.
- Ensuring all products are thoroughly tested and meet regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with other Designers, Implementation Engineers, departments, test labs, suppliers, and contractors to ensure successful project completion.
- Adhering to design procedures and protocols, keeping electronic files.
- Communicating project briefs to the design team.
- Researching projects thoroughly covering user needs, market requirements, and technical requirements.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Design Experience.
- Experience in designing and managing products from concept through development to full production.
- A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, including plastics and metal fabrication.
- Strong concepting, visualization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong experience with 3D design packages such as SolidWorks.
