Due to company growth and our client branching into new markets, they are seeking to add to their design team. The R&D Engineer will be heavily involved in new product design. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the engineering team, supporting new product development and driving continuous improvement to existing designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the wider team in relation to new product designs from conception to completion.
  • Work closely with the Engineering team to design and document new conversions, develop new processes, update production build manuals, and carry out fault finding exercises.
  • Liaise with the R&D team in the creation/modification of parts, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials.
  • Implement new technologies, manufacturing processes, and materials.
  • Sourcing and liaising with suppliers of purchased components.
  • Follow engineering change control procedure where applicable.
  • Record and analyse Time and Motion studies to drive improvements in production times.
  • Create and manage multiple design projects within set timeframe.
  • Be responsible for the correct use of personal protective equipment as per the company policy.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical design 3 years +.
  • Previous experience implementing change control within a production environment.
  • Experience in solid/surface modelling using Solidworks or similar.
