What you'll do:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Supervisor will lead and coordinate daily production floor operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are consistently achieved. The role requires a strong commitment to lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and employee engagement to drive operational excellence. You will be responsible for supervising and developing a team of machine operators across Laser, Press, Plasma, Cutting, and CNC operations, ensuring efficient workflows, high performance standards, and a positive team culture.
Duties include:
- Lead and manage the production team daily, including labour planning, work instruction adherence, attendance management, training and development, and all aspects of employee relations.
- Plan, control, and monitor production activities on the shop floor to ensure output targets are met.
- Ensure the continuous flow of materials so that required parts and resources are available in a timely manner.
- Drive lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, and waste elimination initiatives.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and optimising resource utilisation.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to quickly resolve production issues.
- Foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and active employee involvement.
- Organise and participate in daily and weekly production meetings.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture and ensure full compliance with all health and safety legislation and company standards.
- Ensure production lines operate in accordance with lean manufacturing principles and agreed processes.
- Ensure compliance with all site rules, regulations, and company policies.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Candidates should be qualified to minimum of GCSE level or equivalent.
- Significant production experience gained in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Experience and proven track record of supervisory and/or people management is essential.
- An understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques would be advantageous.
- Awareness of visual management.
- Ability to work to and meet strict deadlines and able to adapt to changing priorities and goals.

- Computer literate and experience of Oracle/ERP systems.
