Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support to Managers, supervisors, and colleagues to improve the service of the HSEQ department.
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS) covering ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001.
- Ensure IMS compliance against applicable standards.
- Develop strong working relationships with all levels of employees and promote a culture of engagement and continual improvement.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and authoritative advice on the close out of actions.
- Support the delivery of health and safety inductions for Managers and Supervisors.
- Identify knowledge or skills gaps and implement corrective actions to ensure competency levels are attained and maintained.
- Support site-based safety requirements and take ownership of HSEQ matters relevant to projects.
- Develop and maintain site-based HSEQ Management Plans, safe systems of work, method statements, risk assessments, and COSHH assessments.
- Create and deliver site inductions and toolbox talks.
- Conduct audits and ensure emergency preparedness and response requirements are met.
- Investigate safety-related incidents in a timely manner and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage subcontractors and lead accident and incident investigations.
- Undertake assigned work in compliance with current HSE legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Attend necessary meetings as required.
- Review and record First Aid and spill kit provision across all sites.
- Participate in an Annual Joint Review.
Essential:
- NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Proven HSE experience for a minimum of 3 years.
- Experience in New Build and M&E construction environments.
- Experience of undertaking health and safety audits.
- Experience of creating RAMS for complex works.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and technical standards.
- Accident and incident investigation experience.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational, planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence change and challenge non-compliance with H&S rules.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve targets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages.
- Ability to travel to other sites across Ireland and the UK.
- Full UK Driving licence.
Desirable:
- Chartered membership of IOSH or working towards it.
- NEBOSH Diploma or working towards it.
- ISO internal auditing qualification.
- Appointed person Qualification.
- Train the Trainer Qualification.
