Our client is a highly successful engineering business based in Dungannon that prides itself on a positive culture for employees. They manufacture products that are highly sought after. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will work within your team to design, develop, prototype, and test products.
This role involves working with a close team of experienced and collaborative Mechanical Design Engineers.
- Develop products from concept through to manufacture, both individually and as a member of a project team using SolidWorks.
- Work to required deliverables, ensuring design projects are on time and within budget.
- Support prototyping by providing accurate data to the prototyping resources.
- Support product/project reviews.
- Ensure all products are thoroughly tested and meet regulatory requirements.
- Work with other Designers, Implementation Engineers, departments, test labs, suppliers, and contractors to ensure successful project completion.
- Adhere to design procedures and protocols, keeping electronic files.
- Communicate project briefs to the design team.
- Research projects thoroughly covering user needs, market requirements, and technical requirements.
To be successful in this role:
- A minimum of 5 years Mechanical Design Experience.
- Experience of designing and managing products from concept through development to full production.
- A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics and metal fabrication.
- Strong concepting, visualization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong 3D design package experience such as SolidWorks.
