My client are seeking an experienced Data Manufacturing Engineer to support their engineering and manufacturing operations in the industrial equipment sector. This role is responsible for building and maintaining high-reliability data pipelines that connect engineering design, product lifecycle management and production operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience creating MBOMs using an ERP system in an industrial, engineered-to-order and configure-to-order environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and manage Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs) and Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs).
- Ensure product structures, part numbers, revisions, and associated documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Administer and maintain product data within Pulse PLM and ERP systems.
- Support the implementation of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring changes are accurately reflected across all systems.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Quality teams to ensure BOMs support manufacturing requirements.
- Validate and reconcile data between PLM and ERP systems to maintain data integrity.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities through accurate setup of product structures and manufacturing data.
- Investigate and resolve BOM, routing, and master data discrepancies.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of data governance processes and procedures.
- Produce reports and data analysis to support operational and engineering requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and document control procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience creating, maintaining, and managing Engineering and Manufacturing BOMs within an ERP system.
- Experience using Pulse PLM for product data and document management.
- Strong understanding of product structures, revision control, configuration management, and engineering change processes.
- Experience in using SolidWorks or similar CAD packages.
- Experience working with manufacturing master data, including parts, assemblies, routings, and related product information.
- Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes within a production environment.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft 365.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across multiple departments.
- Experience working within quality-controlled manufacturing environments.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience using 123Insight ERP.
- Experience with data migration, system implementation, or ERP/PLM integration projects.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with minimum 2 years experience.
- Foundation degree / Higher Level Apprenticeship in Engineering with minimum 4 years experience.
