Due to continued growth, our client, a leading employer in the local area, is currently looking to recruit a Buyer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a hugely successful business and a busy procurement team.
The Role
- Manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities to reduce cost for purchasing requirements for the business.
- Ensure procurement processes align with company quality, cost and delivery objectives.
- Analyse market trends to identify opportunities and risks within categories.
- Develop strategies for sourcing, supplier management, negotiation and supplier relationships.
- Negotiate prices, terms and lead times with suppliers to achieve the best possible results that meet company needs.
- Monitor supplier performance whilst addressing and resolving any reoccurring issues as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Continually challenge and improve upon current practices and procedures.
- Manage and maintain stock levels and investigate any issues that may arise.
- Support and implement category and commodity strategy.
Essential Criteria
- A minimum of 3 years (+) experience in a procurement/purchasing role.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
- Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team.
- Committed and motivated.
