The Role
- Source for various parts, components and materials for production
- Negotiate prices and lead times for products and secure favourable terms for the business
- Liaise with suppliers and schedule deliveries according to production schedule
- Ensure all specification requirements are met for purchased products
- Develop, improve and build strong supplier relationships
- Monitor supplier performance and address any reoccurring issues
- Track progress and manage goods sent out for rework
- Managing call off orders for long lead time items
- Other relevant duties
Essential Criteria
- A minimum (2) years + experience in a purchasing / procurement role
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to work both alone and as part of a team
- Previous experience in working with a MRP system
- Willingness to learn and develop skills
