Our client, a leading mechanical engineering company, is currently recruiting a Costing Engineer/Estimator to join their team. This is a fantastic role with a leading manufacturing company that offers career progression and development opportunities.
The Role
- Developing and providing quotes for customers within the required timeframe.
- Review drawings, labour, material, and overheads to estimate costs for new and existing products.
- Ensure Bill of Material is accurate and up to date.
- Liaise between the sales and engineering team on any costing issues.
- Work with purchasing to achieve full stock control and take a proactive approach towards business improvements.
- Reviewing and developing costing models.
- Monitor current processes and procedures and implement any improvement strategies required.
- Undertaking comprehensive cost and margin assessment.
- Other ad hoc duties.
Essential Criteria
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative.
- A good understanding/knowledge of mechanical engineering.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, Email, and Excel.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with different teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, and strong documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
