Due to continued growth, our client, a leading employer in the local area, is currently looking to recruit a Buyer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a hugely successful business and a busy procurement team.

The Role

  • Manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities to reduce cost for purchasing requirements for the business.
  • Ensure procurement processes align with company quality, cost and delivery objectives.
  • Analyse market trends to identify opportunities and risks within categories.
  • Develop strategies for sourcing, supplier management, negotiation and supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate prices, terms and lead times with suppliers to achieve the best possible results that meet company needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance whilst addressing and resolving any reoccurring issues as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Continually challenge and improve upon current practices and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain stock levels and investigate any issues that may arise.
  • Support and implement category and commodity strategy.

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of 3 years (+) experience in a procurement/purchasing role.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team.
  • Committed and motivated.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
