AboutThe Role. The Human Resources Manager will lead and take ownership of the day-to-day HR function, playing a key role in supporting our people, managers and wider business stakeholders. The role will translate operational priorities into practical people initiatives that strengthen employee experience, management capability and operational performance. This is a key stand-alone and influential role, with responsibility for delivering effective, consistent and legally compliant people operations across the full employee lifecycle. This will include employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, payroll preparation, contracts and HR documentation, probation and performance management, absence management, health and wellbeing initiatives, HR reporting and the development, implementation and review of HR policies and procedures. The role is central to maintaining accurate HR systems (HRIS), building, engaging and maintaining strong positive workplace relationships and ensuring that our people practices support the HR strategy, legal compliance and operational excellence. Key Duties and Responsibilities Include Lead and manage the day-to-day HR function and act as the first point of contact for managers and employees, providing professional, timely, confidential and practical HR advice that supports decision-making and people management. Develop, review, implement and monitor HR policies, procedures and processes; communicating changes clearly and providing appropriate training to ensure continuous improvement, legal compliance, understanding and consistency. Coach, support and guide to build people-management capability, including delivering HR training sessions. Lead end to end recruitment and onboarding activity and processes including partnering with managers to identify workforce requirements and priorities, develop effective employer branding initiatives and campaigns and deliver fair, compliant selection and onboarding processes that create a positive candidate/employee experience. Lead and manage employee relation matters, including investigations, conduct, capability, grievance, disciplinary, attendance and performance processes ensuring cases are handled fairly, consistently, confidentially and in accordance with employment legislation and company procedures. Prepare accurate information for weekly payroll, including time tracking records, attendance data and working with managers on related queries. Support health, safety and wellbeing, partnering with Health and Safety to promote safe working practices, employee wellbeing and compliance. Maintain accurate HRIS and employee records, oversee data quality and compliance, and produce reliable HR reports and management information to support decision making, audit requirements and workforce planning. Support HRIS improvements, ensuring HR processes align with internal policies and procedures and provide training on system updates. Schedule, track and support performance management activities including probation reviews and annual performance reviews, supporting managers on performance, development and improvement plans where required. Manage HR documentation and administration including employment contracts, letters and meeting minutes. Complete ECNI monitoring and Article 55 reporting requirements. Identify, coordinate and monitor mandatory and developmental training needs for all employees. Contribute to the development and implementation of the HR strategy, translating business priorities into practical people plans, policies, procedures and HR best practices. Support operational administration including ordering uniforms and maintaining the fleet insurance driving licence records. Carry out any other duties consistent with the nature, level and responsibilities of the role, as reasonably required to support the needs of the organisation. What Were Looking For. The successful candidate will be an experienced and people-focused HR professional who can operate in a stand-alone HR role. They will combine strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice with the communication, leadership and problem-solving skills to influence managers, handle complex and sensitive matters, and build effective working relationships. Highly organised and attentive to detail, they will be able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment and use HRIS and people data to support informed decision-making. Essential Criteria. CIPD Level 5 qualification or above, or another relevant HR qualification of an equivalent level. Minimum of two years experience working in a broad generalist HR role. Experience providing HR advice and guidance to managers and employees in line with policies, procedures and employment legislation. Strong knowledge of employment legislation, regulation and compliance requirements and HR best practice, with the ability to apply this knowledge to practical workplace situations. Experience managing employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, conduct, capability and attendance matters. Experience managing recruitment, selection and onboarding processes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and advise senior leaders, managers, employees and other stakeholders. Highly organised, proactive and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines while handling sensitive and confidential matters. Confident using HRIS, Microsoft Office and data to maintain accurate records, produce reports and support informed decision-making. Desirable Criteria. CIPD membership. Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, automotive, mobility or similar operational environment. Experience using NorthTime Pro, Workflow Infinity or BrightPay. What We Offer. Salary: Negotiable depending on experience. Hours of Work: 39 hours, Monday to Thursday 9am 5.30pm and Friday 9am 4.30pm. Permanent, full-time role based on-site in Armagh, Co Armagh. Immediate start available. Benenden Health available after successful completion of the 6-month probation period.
