This role is one of the most important roles we have for our store. The early starts you are committed to attend are for someone who does not mind sleeping early and getting up early, especially on cold days. You will be given the correct uniform for this role to keep you safe and warm, including high‑visibility vests, gloves and cosy hats. You must ensure you have safety boots to protect your feet.
The role requires you to have a good prep before the McDonald’s delivery truck arrives. You will push cages from the truck to the stock rooms, unload cages, and handle heavy boxes one at a time. All stock must be checked for quantities, temperatures, and any damages. Once checked you must unload and put away stock in designated areas (frozen, chilled, dry). We operate a First‑In, First‑Out stock rotation. Any shortages on the store floor must be stocked. All empty cardboard boxes must be broken down and placed into cages ready for recycling.
Responsibilities- Push cages from delivery truck to stock rooms
- Unload cages and heavy boxes
- Check stock for quantities, temperatures, and damages
- Store product in designated areas according to FIFO
- Stock shortages on the store floor
- Break down empty cardboard boxes and recycle
- Emptying bins
- Compacting rubbish (loading machines – rubbish will be crushed to save space in larger bins)
- Cleaning any spillages outside the store
- Jet washing the yard
- General cleaning of the area you are working
Premium Shift: If you work overnights, between midnight and 5 am, you will earn extra pay. All team members, including hourly‑paid workers, earn above the national minimum wage.
