Job Description

Join one of the world’s most iconic brands and lead the transformation of our restaurant estate across the UK and Ireland. McDonald’s is growing fast, and we’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to drive high-impact construction projects that shape the future of our customer experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Construction Department, overseeing major capital projects including new restaurant builds, relocations, refurbishments, and reinvestments. You’ll lead a team of Project Managers and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects that reflect our commitment to innovation, quality, and community.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead full project lifecycles for new builds and reinvestment initiatives
  • Evaluate development sites and existing restaurants for construction potential
  • Oversee designs, budgets, timelines, and regulatory approvals
  • Direct external consultants, contractors, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, planning legislation, and McDonald’s standards
  • Provide clear leadership and guidance to Assistant Project Managers and support staff
  • Manage financial accounts and ensure delivery within budget
  • Build strong relationships with Franchisees, Operations teams, and local authorities

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within construction
  • Membership of a relevant professional institute (RICS, CIOB, APM)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and financial management abilities
  • Organised, analytical, and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK & Ireland (valid UK driving license required)
  • Curious, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement
