The People Experience Lead is self-motivated, actively engaged with people and demonstrates care, respect and passion for restaurant crew, managers and guests. This candidate provides supervision, audit, innovation, and oversight across all of the organization’s restaurants. The PEL will be expected to partner and execute the work alongside the General Manager, Owner/Operator and extended leadership teams. The individual executes at a high level to build a high-performing team culture. Strong communication skills, and the ability to liaise with peers and leadership to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities are critical. Principal accountabilities will vary dependent on the needs of the restaurant(s).

Job Duties

  • People Strategy
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of a restaurant or organization-specific human resources strategy and related plan that supports the growth and evolution of the business.
    • Stay current on best practices and trends related to human resources.
    • Implement current best practices and trends into work assignments.
    • Consult with restaurant leadership in the area of change management to achieve our organization’s human resource strategies and goals.
  • Workforce Planning, Staffing and Talent Management
    • Conduct monthly/quarterly staffing analysis.
    • Conduct external market research regarding local wages and benefits (Wages and EVP).
    • Utilize McHire and/or application tracking systems to manage the hiring process.
    • Track and analyze the people data metrics to ensure staffing needs are met.
    • Support the management teams with staffing needs.
    • Prepare for annual people brand standards reviews.
    • Oversee and coordinate forward-looking hiring to ensure a healthy talent pipeline.
  • Training and Development
    • Subject matter expert (SME) for organization’s training and development tools.
    • Organizational lead for the development of crew and managers.
    • Track the development and class attendance of all employees.
    • Supply resources to strengthen restaurant training for crew and managers.
    • Attend training workshops and classes as necessary to continue personal development.
  • Restaurant Profitability
    • Support the restaurants as required through audit, analysis and coaching.
    • Work with restaurant leadership to elevate priority restaurant performance to meet annual/quarterly business plans to maintain and improve guest satisfaction and profitability.
    • Supports in completion of operations assessments.
    • Supports restaurant leadership in completion of action plans and performance improvements.
    • Make informed business decisions using financial and operating information to align human resources with business strategy.
  • Human Resources
    • Ensures compensation laws, standards and rules are being adhered to and implemented.
    • Ensure compliance and enforcement of human resources management.
    • Conduct Payroll for organization.
    • Audit and ensure forms are being submitted and completed correctly.
