Department Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and self-motivated individual to join the Safety, Security & Business Continuity Team within National Operations. The role will be wide-ranging and involve both internal and external engagement to lead on a broad spectrum of Security, Business Continuity and Crisis Management matters.
This role focuses on the development of restaurant-based security solutions and business continuity/crisis management strategies that are aligned with our core business priorities and growth strategy. This includes ensuring that suitable provisions are in place to assess business risk, actively support and provide guidance in a crisis situation, and maintain effective sources of information to assist in building business resilience.
The successful candidate will need to review numerous data streams to identify insights-led opportunities to make smart decisions that support our growth strategy and ultimately improve the safety and security of our restaurant operations. To achieve this, you will need to have a proven track record of excellent communication and organisational skills as you will need to share your plans with varying audiences. You will work closely with several groups where you will need to steer planning and decision-making in line with our business priorities. Alongside this, you will also be expected to build strong relationships with our Global teams.

- Close working relationship with Support Departments including Legal, Impact Team, People Team, Global Security and intelligence team
- Close working relationship across National Operations
- Close working relationship with our security partners
- A central point of contact for Operations, Franchisees and Support Departments, ensuring regular two-way communication
Reports to Safety, Security & Business Continuity Manager
Duties
- Provide leadership in developing and implementing Business Continuity and Crisis Management solutions for all functions within the business.
- Provide guidance and input to business initiatives to ensure the safety and security of our people and customers remains at the heart of everything we do.
- Work in partnership with Global colleagues, to share and steal best practice.
- Develop and continually improve security operational procedures, communicating changes and improvements by means of standard communication channels.
What will my accountabilities be?
- Lead a team of talented individuals and create opportunities for them to grow and develop.
- Provide support in delivering business initiatives ensuring that safety and security remain the foundation of restaurant operations.
- Identifying priorities and develop/deliver security solutions for our Operations teams.
- Lead on the management and engagement with key external partners and suppliers.
- Lead on the Business Continuity & Crisis Management Programme and be a link to all departments in the area of Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
- Advise the Executive team to ensure suitable security provisions are in place for any high-risk events or situations.
- Provide support with the Premises Licensing process.
Qualifications
- Valid, Full UK Driving License
- Strong operational security experience
- Strong understanding of business continuity and crisis management concepts – an external qualification in Business Continuity is preferable, but not essential
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- Computer literate with a good understanding of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
- Appreciation of the needs of differing audiences (restaurants, operations and office hierarchy, franchisees, suppliers etc)
- Customer-focused
- Good organisational skills – ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
