About the role

Join us and you\'ll become part of a crew, or a team, that works together to provide the best customer experience. If you\'ve visited one of our restaurants before, you\'ll know what’s involved in maintaining a restaurant. You will be responsible for maintaining outside landscaping, painting and varnishing, maintaining parking facilities and completing non‑electrical small equipment repairs. You will also jet‑wash in all weathers but will be provided the appropriate PPE. A franchised restaurant is a restaurant operated by a local business person trading under the McDonald’s name. Currently over 80% of our restaurants in the UK are franchised but from a customer point of view there’s no difference.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining outside landscaping, painting and varnishing, parking facilities, and completing non‑electrical small equipment repairs.
• Jet‑washing in all weathers using PPE.
• Working with external contractors to ensure repairs are carried out with minimal disruption to customers.
• Assisting the restaurant management team to operate the store efficiently, maintaining equipment and building in prime condition.

Eligibility & Right to Work

We are required to verify eligibility to work in the UK & Ireland. Acceptable documents include a valid passport or a valid UK/Ireland visa. Only original documents will be accepted.

Interview Process

The interview is vital to assess values and attitudes. Questions will revolve around teamwork and demonstrating fit for the role. We hire for qualities and potential rather than qualifications.

Working Hours and Pay

Every team member earns above the national minimum wage. Premium rates are paid for night shifts between midnight and 6 am (£1.50 extra per hour) and between midnight and 5 am for overnights. Shift schedules are flexible and can be arranged to suit you.
