Department Overview

Consults to a group of McOpCo restaurants. Developing a team of Business Managers, who nurture their people to consistently deliver outstanding QSC, maximising sales levels and optimising profit. To provide values-based leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to assigned restaurants, to maximise the long-term sales and profit potential of each assigned restaurant. Builds a positive business relationship with Business Managers and restaurant management teams. Also builds authentic community-based relationships to enhance trust in the brand. They consistently demonstrate McDonald's values and leadership behaviours to role model excellence and build productive relationships with all stakeholders inside and outside the business.

What Team will I be a part of?

You will report to the Director of Operations. Your stakeholder groups will span across both Office and Operations leadership teams and will include Director of Operations, Business Managers, Restaurant Management teams and external customers and suppliers.

Duties

  • People: Setting and supporting the provision of establishment numbers/workforce planning. Collaborating with Director and Business Manager to ensure that individual performance targets are established, performance reviews are conducted on time and communicated one-on-one, performance improvement plans are implemented, and performance shortfalls are corrected. Understanding and implementing all appropriate HR policies, employment legislation, security and safety procedures, ensuring compliance at restaurant level. Identifying, nurturing, developing the restaurant teams to ensure there is a talent pipeline of future leaders in place for the group. Engaging with the restaurant team and having a platform for listening to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment. Ensuring the implementation of training and development systems across all restaurants.
  • QSC/ Sales Building: Protecting the McDonald's brand and focusing on the long-term benefit of the McDonald's system by ensuring that restaurants meet McDonald's QSC operational standards, food safety standards, and hygiene standards. Proactively identifying and addressing threats and barriers. Demonstrating a commitment to the highest standards of service by consistently observing restaurant operations, troubleshooting shift management, taking on-the-spot corrective actions, and recognizing successes. Completing restaurant-based audits. Ensuring that restaurants implement all local and national promotions successfully. Coordinating the implementation and execution of new products and processes consistently within their restaurants through the use of NABIT bundles and updates. Actively implementing the Roadmap to Best Loved. Completing announced and unannounced visits to restaurants covering all dayparts. Leveraging leadership qualities within the consultant group.
  • Business Results: Using all information resources available to identify opportunities and threats to optimize restaurant performance adjusting business plan tactics accordingly. Accepting individual and team responsibility and accountability for actions and results. Assisting restaurant management teams by collecting and analyzing daily, weekly and monthly statistical information and then supporting by recommending appropriate remedial action. Setting and collecting financial information and assists with monthly P&L statements for each restaurant and individual consultant group, ensuring that financial information is processed correctly and there is adherence to all financial policies (e.g. expenses, petty cash, National Cash Policy). Querying and reporting of any discrepancies outside of financial policies. Completing audits to ensure that restaurants meet McDonald's operating standards and procedures. Being curious about the overall strategy of the Business and adapting this across the group of restaurants. Inspiring and striving to exceed goals, targets, embracing change for standards of performance to capitalize on opportunities.
