McDonald’s UK & Ireland seeks a Portfolio & Program Management Specialist to support enterprise transformation initiatives across functions, programs, projects and broader initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead portfolio management efforts for Enterprise Transformation.
- Oversee initiatives feeding into the governance intake process and act as gatekeeper for quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Specialists, Change Management, Technology and National Operations to identify business impact and plan successful implementation and adoption.
- Build and maintain the integrated “Transformation Plan,” ensuring coverage of global and market programs, projects, campaigns and functional initiatives.
- Ensure dependencies are documented, controlled and escalated as needed.
- Support development and maintenance of key artefacts, continuous improvement.
- Ensure the Stage‑Gate process is followed: initial concept assessment, prioritisation, business‑case and deployment approach, change requests, quality assurance of documentation.
- Provide constructive challenge on benefits and costs, scrutinise budget alignment and ensure funding availability.
- Work with the wider team to develop reporting on the portfolio, generate insightful reports and support ad‑hoc requests.
- Prepare input for governance forums, including pre‑read, presentation deck, meeting notes and action items.
- Engage with Transformation team and other stakeholders for insights on in‑flight projects.
- Attend Cross‑Functional Team meetings, support programme and project governance and progress monitoring.
- Assist with broader program or change team activities as required.
- Collaborate with Global and Market stakeholders on annual business planning, build comprehensive plans and prioritise roadmap initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Program management and/or portfolio planning experience.
- Experience scoping and delivering projects from plan to execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work within a framework, plan own work to meet objectives.
- Adaptability to changing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑starter with a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Strong written and oral presentation skills.
- Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

- Experience scoping and developing business cases for new ideas/projects.
- Knowledge of project and change tools/artefacts in a typical project lifecycle.
- Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with a PPM tool such as Smartsheets.
