Maintenance Person – Ulverston McDonald\’s [00:01] My name is Lloyd. I\’m a maintenance person and I\’ve been [00:03] working from McDonald\’s for three years. I\’ve got two parts to [00:06] my job, which is maintenance and making sure that [00:09] the store is looking very tidy. I pressure wash most of [00:12] the morning and I do the delivery. I enjoy the delivery because it\’s [00:15] all hands-on. When we working at McDonald\’s everybody [00:18] in my team. We are like the best of friends. [00:21] We\’re all mates. It\’s really encouraging. The culture for [00:24] McDonald\’s is like a one big happy [00:27] family. The team is a very good team to work for I really [00:30] enjoy it. I think it\’s the best job I\’ve ever had because it\’s [00:33] so rewarding. If you\’ve visited one of our restaurants before, you\’ve probably got some idea of what\’s involved in maintaining a restaurant. But you might not realise the variety and scope of the role. Specific responsibilities will include maintaining outside landscaping, painting and varnishing, maintaining parking facilities and completion of non-electrical small equipment repairs and maintenance as well as organisation, acceptance and rotation of our great food products. To join us you\’ll need to be confident in dealing with external contractors as well as the restaurant team. You\’ll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Quite simply, you\’ll be working in our fast moving, high energy environment and you\’ll be required to assist the restaurant management team in operating the store efficiently by maintaining the equipment and building in prime condition. You\’ll need to work with external contractors to make sure repairs are carried out with minimal disruption to customers. As a key part of the restaurant team you will work as a supportive colleague and demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm for the standards in all areas of the restaurant inside and out. I feel like I\’ve been supported and valued [00:23] by people on shift. There\’s always gratitude going around. [00:27] And there\’s always there\’s always that support there as [00:30] well as you\’re doing the role. [00:32] Yeah, best thing the people, the customers. [00:36] Flexibility around what days you can\’t work, what days you can work. [00:39] Being able to do things with people in store like arranging to [00:42] maybe meet out and go the other places and just really having that [00:45] connection within the crew [00:48] at your store. [00:50] It\’s a very lovely thing to have. [00:52] I still have people that I talk to today that have left the store and [00:55] move on to different jobs for that that friendship stays there.
