People Experience Lead

The People Experience Lead plays a key role in supporting the delivery of effective people practices within a fast-paced, customer-focused restaurant environment.

Working closely with the Business Manager and People Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and development of employees while promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

As part of the restaurant management team, the People Experience Lead helps oversee people operations for a workforce of 100+ employees within a multi-million-pound business.

The role involves maintaining accurate people records, monitoring key HR metrics, supporting employee relations, and ensuring company policies and procedures are consistently applied.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and induction of new employees.
  • Assist in implementing people strategies that drive employee engagement, retention, and development.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on key people metrics, providing insights to support operational and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and complete HR administration, including documentation, filing, note-taking, and data management.
  • Provide guidance and first-line support to employees on HR policies, procedures, and internal systems.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare reports, and present updates to management where required.
  • Support employee recognition initiatives and internal communications, including social media updates.
  • Ensure people systems and HR processes are maintained effectively and in compliance with company standards.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership by promoting an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative working environment.
  • Build positive relationships with employees and managers, using initiative, professionalism, and problem-solving skills to resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Work flexibly across a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to support operational requirements.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within retail, hospitality, customer service, or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and other computer-based systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, or HR administration is desirable.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, use initiative, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
