Department Overview

We’re looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Payroll Advisor to join our Finance team. This isn’t just a processing role – we’re seeking someone with a solid fundamental understanding of end to end payroll operations, who can confidently navigate the full payroll lifecycle and contribute to continuous improvement. As a Payroll Advisor, you’ll be part of a well-established team responsible for processing payroll for over 20,000 crew members every fortnight, plus two monthly payrolls for our salaried staff. You’ll be involved in everything from running payroll cycles and resolving queries to supporting system implementations and shaping future processes.

Duties

  • Oversee and execute accurate, timely payroll for both fortnightly and monthly cycles
  • Resolve payroll queries with professionalism and a customer-first mindset
  • Support the implementation of new systems and processes, including our transition to Zellis ResourceLink
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet department-wide goals
  • Safeguard payroll data integrity and security
  • Assist with year-end processing, reporting, and compliance

Qualifications What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in full end-to-end payroll
  • CIPP qualification preferred (or working towards it)
  • Strong grasp of UK payroll and pension legislation
  • Experience with Zellis HCM ResourceLink is a plus
  • Experience in a fast-paced, change-driven environment
  • A mindset geared toward continuous improvement and problem-solving
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with SOX controls, RRS, PowerBI, or system implementation is advantageous
