Hybrid Working This role is based in our East Finchley office working 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.
Job Description In this exciting opportunity you will be part of the Tech Hive agile scrum team to deliver continuous high-quality outputs of business value. Working within the wider Adoption and Innovation function you will operate with a customer first mindset continuously striving to improve the customer and crew experience by collaborating with the optimisation and adoption teams. The core purpose of the Tech Hive is to identify and generate innovative technical solutions to grow market share, drive commercial value and improve customer experience and as such you will need strong technical skills in this role.
What will my accountabilities be?
- Work as part of the Tech Hive team to foster a high performing culture aligned with the company values.
- Stays close to the business, IT teams and franchisees by building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Works closely with stakeholders to understand, refine, influence and demonstrate ideas or solutions to business problems acting as an advocate for innovation and value.
- Work closely with the Optimisation and Adoption teams to build a close ecosystem driving value and improvements to our customers.
- Drives a customer first approach across the Tech Hive and supports the wider Innovation and Adoption team.
- As a technical SME seek out innovative solutions to local market problems by creating technical outputs demonstrating your broad knowledge of software and hardware capabilities.
- Development, through your SME technical background, of high quality software or hardware outputs which has been rigorously tested and is ready to be released.
- Utilising your technical understanding of 3rd party suppliers and partners capabilities to bring ideas and improvements to new or existing market level technical products.
- Responsible for taking ownership of delivery and meeting the development goal (along with the wider Tech Hive team).
- As a technical SME Identifying existing IT systems and services that can be improved upon through enhancements or additional developments of a technical nature to return increased customer value.
- Responsible for ensuring McDonald's Architectural or Network standards are understood and adhered to any Tech Hive goals.
- Works collaboratively with other Tech Hive Developers to ensure sprint goals are continuously met and positive team culture is maintained, encourages good practice agile development techniques.
- Works closely with other Technology and business colleagues to understand the technology enablers/constraints of new product ideas.
- Supports the wider department maturity for agile understanding and adoption.
What Team will I be a part of? The Tech Hive Team will be part of the Adoption & Innovation Team which is part of the wider Technology and Change Team.

Qualifications
- Technical experience in developing C#/API/SQL/network or other products.
- Two years' experience in software creation or development cycles.
- Good understanding of software and product development practices and technical skills set to create software artifacts.
- Good knowledge of the technology landscape in the hospitality sector.
- A strong interest in technology innovation and technical products and the ability to distil their business benefits simply to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in working as part of a collaborative team to achieve joint outcomes.
- Experience of working within an outsourced and highly complex technology and business environment.
- Sound knowledge of Agile methodology.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to work creatively under pressure of time and scope.
- Able to make and take ownership of decisions at fast pace.
- Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Good at providing feedback in a way that is both positive and meaningful.
