This role is based in our East Finchley office working 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.

What You’ll Be Doing:

McDonald’s is seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning Designer with HR knowledge to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and designing courses delivered within the organisation. This role is crucial in ensuring our HR training programs are effective, up-to-date, and aligned with industry best practices and legislation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Review Existing Courses: Conduct a comprehensive review of current HR training programs to identify areas for improvement and ensure content relevance.
  • Design New Courses: Develop and design new HR training programs and supporting resources that address the evolving needs of the organisation and its employees. Review what can be offered as bite-sized learning to capture current trends.
  • Content Curation: Select and organise relevant materials, including articles, case studies, and multimedia resources to support HR education.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with leaders, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather input and ensure training programs meet organisational goals.
  • Train the Trainer Delivery: Facilitate workshops and online courses to educate learning professionals on various topics, including compliance, employee engagement, and leadership development.
  • Execution: Develop and implement a strategic communication plan to successfully launch and integrate HR training, ensuring ‘buy-in’ across the organisation to affect change.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Create assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and performance data.
  • Culture: Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within HR training to foster employee engagement, drive performance excellence, and support the overall growth and success of the business.

Team:

You will be part of the Education, Learning and Development Team, working closely with the Human Resources and Culture Teams. These teams are part of the broader People function and collaborate with Global Learning and Development.

What You’ll Need:

  • Learning and Development, Education or a related field qualification.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional design, preferably within an HR context.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices and principles.
  • Excellent communication, influence and interpersonal skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making and research capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using e-learning platforms and other educational technologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in instructional design or a related field.
  • Familiarity with adult learning theories and best practices.
  • Experience in the fast-food or hospitality industry.
