What type of questions do you ask at an interview?
The interview is an absolutely vital part of our hiring process. Without it, we wouldn’t get a proper picture of what kind of person you are, and whether you’d be a great fit at McDonalds. The interview will normally involve a set of questions around values and attitudes and will allow the interviewee to really show us why they’re the right person for the job. For instance, we might ask for an example of times you’ve worked as part of a team and how you made a difference to that team. In short, we look for people who have the right attitudes and behaviours to deliver a great customer and colleague experience; we hire for qualities and potential, rather than qualifications.

Role and responsibilities (McDonald’s Crew Member)
As a Crew Member, you’ll make it happen, whether you’re preparing food, serving on the till or being out in the dining areas looking after our customers’ needs. You will consistently deliver the highest standards of quality, service and cleanliness in the restaurant. Provide friendly, fast and accurate service. Complete tasks and activities in line with training, company guidelines and management direction. Follow all workplace safety, security and food hygiene procedures. Treat all customers and colleagues with courtesy and respect working as a supportive team member.

If you work overnights, between the hours of midnight and 5am, you’ll earn extra pay. Every team member, including our hourly-paid workers, earns above the national minimum wage. Our restaurant hours range from location to location, but over half of our restaurants are open 24 hours a day. We schedule most shifts to suit you, but also take working time legislation and our business needs into account.
