Overview
Join one of the world’s most iconic brands and lead the transformation of our restaurant estate across the UK and Ireland. McDonald’s is growing fast, and we’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to drive high-impact construction projects that shape the future of our customer experience.
Location: North East England, Yorkshire & Lincolnshire (hybrid working pattern – 50/50 split between field based and remote working)
Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycles for new build initiatives, ranging from groundworks to fit outs
- Evaluate development sites and existing restaurants for construction potential
- Oversee designs, budgets, timelines, and regulatory approvals
- Direct external consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, planning legislation, and McDonald’s standards
- Provide clear leadership and guidance to Assistant Project Managers and support staff
- Manage financial accounts and ensure delivery within budget
- Build strong relationships with Franchisees, Operations teams, and local authorities
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within construction
- Membership of a relevant professional institute (RICS, CIOB, APM)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and financial management abilities
- Organised, analytical, and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools
- Flexibility to travel across the UK & Ireland (valid UK driving licence required)
- Curious, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement
