Job Role – Assistant Manager
Location – Rooley Lane, Bradford
Ready to step up? We’re looking for a driven, high-energy leader to join us as our next Assistant Manager. If you have a passion for people, thrive on leading from the front, and know how to bring out the best in others, this is the role for you.
As Assistant Manager you’ll be at the heart of the action and be focusing on coaching, inspiring, and guiding a shift management team to deliver excellent service. You’ll lead the creation of work culture that empowers crew members and enables them to shine.
Financial & Business Responsibilities:
- Support delivery of KPIs including sales, profitability, and quality scores.
- Analyse reports and assist in implementing action plans for improvement.
- Assist with managing stock control, waste management, and ordering.
- Assist in scheduling staff rotas and managing labour costs.
- Drive business performance by understanding key metrics and owning the monthly P&L.
People & Operations Management:
- Lead a large, diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Support the Business Manager with restaurant operational delivery.
- Supervise and develop crew and shift managers.
- Lead shifts and ensure the smooth running of the restaurant when required.
Customer Service:
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service at all times.
- Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements.
- Have the ability to influence your team to showcase McDonald’s customer focused approach.
Food Quality & Safety:
- Ensure food is prepared and served according to McDonald’s high standards.
- Monitor food safety procedures and ensure compliance with required regulations.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant at all times.
Training & Development:
- Champion 1-2-1s and performance feedback to grow strong, confident leaders.
- Train new team members and support their development.
- Conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Promote McDonald’s values and team culture.
Personal Specification:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in management OR 2 years' experience in fast food/hospitality industry.
- Management or supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment (hospitality or retail preferred).

- High level of personal integrity and punctuality.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for customer service and team development.

Two Stage Interview Process:
To ensure that the role is right for you, we will carry out a two-stage interview process so you can get a taste of the restaurant you will be working in. This will be broken down into the following:
- Stage 1 – Interview with Tom (our Learning and Development Manager) followed by a tour of the operation.
- Stage 2 – 1 hour shoulder-to-shoulder session with a current shift manager where you will see what it takes to be a shift manager, manage others, carry out operational checks. This will be followed by meeting with Saj (the restaurant owner) where you can discuss the role in more detail.
